I’ve taught over seven hundred “mompreneurs” how to take their great ideas and leverage them into profitable programs, products, and services to help their target market. I love heart-centered entrepreneurs, but the problem is that many of us never ever make the conversion from free business to designing systems and models that are profitable. As a result, we often find ourselves out of business in no time.
If you are spending your time, expertise, and talent supporting others with solving problems and creating solutions to improve their lives, then it is your responsibility to charge for your services.
Here are my three simple Rs of creating and monetizing your products with your ideas:
Record what you know
— Use your phone or purchase a digital recorder and start recording your speaking engagements and free consultations with your friends. Use those recordings to create products for your business. Before booking your next complimentary consultation with non-paying clients who want to “pick your brain” tell them that you are building content for your business, and would love to work with them complimentary in exchange for the opportunity to record the call to create content for your business.
Repurpose what you say
— Take that amazing content you have been giving away for free and transcribe the recordings to create products. You could easily take a one-hour call and create an e-book/workbook to accompany the recording as a product for your business. Keeping a record of your content puts you in a great position to generate valuable giveaways for your target audience while also getting a sample of your core message in front of them.
Rebrand and reposition yourself with amazing content
— Sometimes small business or newer entrepreneurs struggle to monetize their business because they have branded themselves as “free” coaches, consultants, and service providers. When you begin to package your products and services you will rebrand your intellectual know-how and allow your perspective clients to see the value of what you offer in a completely different way. This also allows you to redirect those people who want to “pick your brand” to a quality tool that can support them and allow you to begin to generate profit in your business.
